FUNDRAISING
IT’S OUR STORY
HOVER OVER ME TO FIND OUT MORE
Every year without fail, UPNC manages to go above and beyond what is expected by raising an incredible amount of money for our chosen charity, which, this year, has been Women in Sport. As a club we have created and participated within many fundraising events, whereby, recently, some of our girls completed Plymouth’s half marathon, raising over £700 for Activity Alliance (formerly known as English Federation of Disability Sport). UPNC’s old girl Ellie James also came back to run alongside UPNC, showing how dedicated the girls are to fundraise for a charity we are all so passionate about. Our 2017/2018 Charity Secretary Emily Ford is a strong advocator for fundraising for the environment, and within Green Week – which educates and highlights the importance of helping our environment by cutting down on plastic usage – she scheduled speeches about conservation, and also organised events surrounding Plymouth’s Great Spring Clean to aid the volunteering opportunities within the club. We are incredibly excited to see what our new Fundraising Secretary Cassie Fawcett has planned for this year, and you can see just a small section of what she has in store by reading her Committee profile on ‘Meet the Committee’. UPNC have hosted a Netball/Rugby tournament and a Netball/Football tournament which both turned out to be great successes, with a variety of teams competing in a wide range of fancy dress outfits to rally our troops into fundraising as much as possible. Alongside many Quiz Nights and once again some of our girls running the Plymouth 10k back in October, this just proves how much as a club we can do for others, leading to us, in return being awarded Gold Icons for all our efforts again this year.
